The post which claims that there are almost 6 million "accounts" activated... Does this include accounts from free trial keys? Because I'm sure that also sets up an account and people could leave immediately after that.

I don't know why, but you can still get free trial accounts today. Why this program is being offered is beyond me, since it seems like an easy avenue for abuse.

Except that on a trial account you can't trade items with players, you can't pick up items that other players drop and you can't drop items for others to pick up

Guild Wars hit 5 million units sold in February of last year, with the 4 million mark being broken in August the year before. So yes, based off those figures (and some serious guesstimation) I'd say that text should be keys activated, not accounts.

It certainly couldn't be accounts unless it includes trial accounts, which is equally as misleading. Even then it's doubtful, but I suppose it's possible that gold farmers bumped those numbers up quite a bit.
